Cameron's Story

seescape is the new operating name of Fife Society for the Blind. We are a charity that has provided services for people living with sight loss for the past 150 years. People can often associate sight loss with old age but this video demonstrates that losing your sight can happen at any time and any age.

We wanted to make a video with a younger person that carried a positive message about our involvement with them and their journey. Looking at the use of technology and how it can be used in a positively to help integrate this child back into his educational and sporting life.

Stuart, the trainer in this video, has been blind since birth and a leading expert with smart, assistive technology. We wanted the video to show the difference technology can make to someone in their everyday life, in this case, particularly school work.

The video demonstrates the bond between Cameron and Stuart and the difference Cameron’s learning is making in him feeling included, in his class, with his friends. It also shows the difference that technology has made to his parents and their hopes for Cameron’s future after such a devastating illness.
