Carl's Story

Many people think that Hospice Care is for older people reaching the natural end of their life, however Phyllis Tuckwell cares for young adults from the age of 18, and their families living with an advanced or terminal illness. Carl’s moving story shows his young family’s experience of the care from Phyllis Tuckwell, and the continuing support after Emily died. The film was designed to show that support does not end with the patient, but continues on through into bereavement. Carl’s young family share their honest and often tearful memories to reinforce the charity’s ethos of “because every day is precious”.
