Concrete Jungle

Forest Destruction

The aim of this film is to raise awareness of the devastating impacts of forest destruction in Sumatra.

Much-loved jungle characters struggle on grey city streets, having lost their home. The film aims to promote our Rainforest Home appeal to buy a 360-hectare plot of land and turn it from lifeless oil palm plantation back into diverse, vibrant rainforest.

Iconic Species

The Leuser Ecosystem in Sumatra is the last place on Earth where orangutans, rhinos, elephants, and tigers live together in the wild. Tragically, Indonesia has the fastest deforestation rate in the world. The film is a moving illustration of the stark reality facing many animals as forest destruction accelerates.

Bringing forests back to life

Fortunately, there is hope. SOS and their partners reclaim deforested land and restore it, planting and nurturing trees so that wildlife can return. Land that was barren just a few years ago is now buzzing with life again.

We are restoring over 100 hectares of land in the Leuser Ecosystem, but this is just the beginning. The proposed 360-hectare plot will provide a home for thousands of species, including the iconic orangutans, elephants and tigers we all recognise in the film.
