Mr D and Geoff have a bit of Breakfast

When the directors of ManHealth were looking for information and resources around Depression and men we realised that there wasn't really anything that we felt showed how insidious Depression can be. We commissioned David Napthine to write 6 original screenplays of which this is one, about the symptoms of depression and how they affect the life of Geoff and Kate. We wanted to show how Depression consumes your day-to-day life and interferes with your ability to work, study, eat, sleep, and have fun; and the feelings you have when depressed – such as helplessness, hopelessness, and worthlessness – which can be intense and unrelenting and become life threatening. We wanted it to be played out in a real life situation and the series follows Geoff's demise and to encourage men to reach out for support. The video was also designed to raise awareness of our peer support programme.
