Stories get told everyday, but only some voices get heard. Take Dionésie and her husband: they live in what is officially recognised as the hungriest country in the world, Burundi. They have a small plot of land, but with a lack of farming skills they struggle to even feed their children.
Meanwhile the voices of celebrities are heard loud and clear everywhere we look in the western world.
Send a Cow sought to address this imbalance in an interesting way with the Unheard Voices video. Presenting an original spin on the ‘celebrities for charity’ concept, the clip saw famous faces of the UK speaking Dionésie’s own words, amplifying her story to an audience of thousands.
The video acted as a megaphone for some of the most vulnerable people in the world, and raised over £75,000 to help train families such as Dionésie’s in farming techniques and business skills – so they can feed their children and lift themselves out of poverty for good.
